What are the strangest syndromes that affect children?

The “Alice in Wonderland” syndrome is especially unique and is more common in children than in adults.

For anyone who has ever lived under a rock, Alice in Wonderland is about a girl who falls down a rabbit hole into this strange world filled with talking creatures.

Alice in Wonderland syndrome occurs when children experience sensory distortions. They have out-of-body experiences, as if their head is turned away from their body, or the sights and sounds are completely different from normal. They may have the feeling of looking through a telescope through the wrong end.

I may have had it myself, I suspect from a fever when I was about five or six years old. I remember feeling like I was on drugs or something.

The movie is actually pretty scary for a kid. And I’ve heard that the unedited version that stays true to the book is even scarier.
